Pros of Receptionist Jobs

Most companies either large or small will likely have receptionists. Receptionists are generally the first people that visitors and customers will interact with so it's important that they are friendly at all times and never rude.

Becoming a receptionist is fairly simple in comparison to other positions because you don't always need any prior experience nor a college degree. It would be good to have a high school diploma to put on your receptionist resume but that may not even be necessary. Receptionists make pretty good wages as well being that the average salary is around $16 per hour. Not a bad wage if you don't have experience.

Receptionist jobs are usually entry level positions which can be a great way to get in with any company. Once you gain more experience you may get promoted which would give you more responsibilities and a higher wage as well. It's very rare for people to start out at the top of the company but many of those people who are now at the top started at the very bottom.

Another great thing about being a receptionist is that your job really never gets boring. You're able to interact with visitors and answer customer calls and if that area is slow you can let other employees know that you are available to help them complete tasks. It's very hard for a receptionist to get bored and they may also find some visitors to be pretty entertaining which can make the job fun.
