If you live in a small town, there might not be enough business for you to make a career out of this, so doing the market research is important. In a larger city, there is always room for another realtor, as homes are bought and sold in these cities each and every day. Also, pay attention to the types of homes that are selling in your area because this will determine how much money can be made in your city.


Once you have figured out that you truly want to be an agent, it is time to begin setting up your business. The first thing that you will want to do is get in touch with another realtor. Keep in mind that there are realtor schools that you must attend in order to receive your license (your license should be included in your real estate sales resume). It is also possible to take these courses online in some states, so you can complete your schooling on your own time. You will have to pass a test to receive your license, but this should not be a problem for most people, as long as you take the time to learn the material.
