The Information Technology Exchange Program

The Information Technology Exchange Program (ITEP) gives private industry and Federal agencies an opportunity to learn from each other.

If you are looking for an exciting new professional development opportunity with the Federal government, the ITEP is it.  For those already employed in IT in private industry, or currently employed in a federal agency in IT, you may be eligible to participate in this great program.  The program gives personnel with exceptional performance from private IT and Federal sectors to participate in temporary assignments of up to three months or longer in the other sector.

ITEP is a federal program that encourages IT workers to develop, modernize and supplement their skills to improve the long term performance and competency of Federal personnel.  There are opportunities that exist in all sectors of the Federal government in ITEP, such as the Department of Commerce, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of the Treasury, Department of Defense, Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security.  Federal agencies have a strong interest in IT Project Management, IT Security, Solutions Architecture and Enterprise Architecture as well as other IT disciplines.

If you are an IT professional, consider ITEP to expand your skills and broaden your horizons.

Also please not that even if you have a good IT resume, you will need to use the Federal resume format in order to apply to a job with Uncle Sam.
