Instructions for Employment Publishing, Inc. files associated with LinkMapsTM
In general, we prefer to update files used for LinkMapsTM ourselves. However it may be necessary that your webmasters update the files from time to time as well. This document describes the location, format, and upload instructions associated with the files we upload.
LinkMaps Files are maintained in a .zip file located on our servers at:
The above file contains a number of directories. Please "drill down" until you reach the directory /LinkMaps/. This directory contains .htm files, this readme file, and a marketing department Excel file. Instead of hand-submitting all pages that link to you to each engine, you may opt to allow the page list to be spidered by the engines themselves. In this case you may upload the entire directory to the main document directory on your server (http://www.employment911.com/LinkMaps/).
In order for the search engines to follow the link to the http://www.employment911.com/LinkMaps/ directory there must be a very clearly visible non-transparent link on a top page. As a result, the logo link (above) must reside on your home page as follows:
As an alternative, you may also place the link to the LinkMaps directory on another image or text link.
There is a link to our site on the last of the pages included with this product (LinkMaps0.asp) as authorized in the license agreement.
To test that all of this went as planned, please verify that the link installed on your home page will transfer to the initial LinkMaps results page (/LinkMaps/). If this test functions properly then the libraries are installed and functional. Please acknowledge by sending a confirming email.
