Including a graph in a resume

A question we get asked pretty often is whether a job sekers can include a graph in his/her resume. I know it might sound weird to some of you but it actually depends on your field and career level. As a rule, if you are just entering the workforce or are looking for an entry level job, I wouldn't recommend doing this. If you are at a managerial or executive level it is however accepted. But it mostly depends on your industry. Graphs are usually included in resumes for fields such as sales, finance, engineering, etc ... mostly specialties that deal with numbers and quantitative results.

But don't just take my word for granted. Before you start adding a graph to your resume, you should do your homework and see if it's accepted in your field and at your career level to make sure you have a professional resume that matches what employers and recruiters are looking for.
