Job Description
The Product Safety Specialist determines legal requirements for the printing inks and coatings produced, in particular with regard to global legislation on chemicals and inks, and ensures the conformity of the hubergroup products. Internal departments, subsidiaries and customers are advised from product safety in relation to the legal requirements for products manufactured by our customers and requirements of brand owners. The PS Specialist North America handles internal and external inquiries on product safety issues and is responsible for the grading and labeling program, in close coordination with and with the support of the European and Indian PS offices.
Qualifications:
Experience in the printing inks field. Preferably a B.A. Degree (Chemistry) from a four year college or university (or equivalent education and work experience), with emphasis on Product Safety and Regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical, project management, verbal and written communication abilities.
Skills and Experience required:
Basic knowledge of TSCA, DSL/NDSL and basic experience about notifications (able to perform it under guidance, eg. external consultant)Ideally, basic knowledge of US and CAN laws regulating chemical market (import, handling, quantity tracking, management of supporting documentation, etc)Ideally, basic knowledge of US CFR parts for food contact and FDA requirements.
Basic knowledge of Canadian FCM laws.
Not necessary experience in petitioning, but understanding of the process is desired.
User knowledge with the SAP module
Good user knowledge with all MS Office applications
Good command of spoken and written English. Other languages are appreciated.
