Bardstown Police Department Career Opportunity
The Bardstown Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for recruit and lateral police officers.
Recruit applicants must be 21 years of age. Have a high school diploma or equivalent and able to pass an extensive background investigation which includes a polygraph and psychological screening process.
Lateral applicants must have 5 years of police experience and meet the requirements of the Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) Act administered by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Starting pay for laterals will be based on experience plus years of service.
Our Police Recruit salary starts at $35,256 and our sworn officer salary starts at $38,781.
Lateral Police Officers with 5-10 years of experience start at $45,490 to $48,275.
