Job Description: Project Engineer Bridgeton, MO PRINCIPAL PURPOSE: Provide project engineering support across various engineering disciplines in conjunction with plant managers, process engineering, and R&D, for the Bridgeton MO location. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Designs, develops, and installs approved construction and manufacturing projects. 2. Determines the feasibility of proposed projects and recommends the structural, mechanical, electrical, operational or other requirements, for Sr. management approval. 3. Coordinates and supervises the implementation process for approved projects. 4. Submits recommendations to Corporate Engineering Manager and/or Senior Management for approval. 5. Formulates, conducts and supervises mechanical, electrical or process studies. 6. Coordinates and supervises the work of contractors, design engineers, and specialists. 7. Ensures that specifications, material requirements, drawings and estimating of project costs are completed, compiles the results and prepares recommendations / capital appropriations. 8. Prepares purchase requisitions for equipment and services to assure timely completion of projects. 9. Ensures the preparation of activity reports to keep others informed about the status of projects and activities. 10. Submits monthly budget and status reports on capital items under his or her control. 11. Develop / submit justifications and cost estimates for the next year's capital budget. 12. Prepares SOP's for engineering functions, production operations, plant processes, and general procedures. 13. Work in conjunction with local plant managers to assure all work permits are secured for timely, efficient execution of projects. 14. Prepares and organizes engineering drawings and standards for buildings, equipment and processes. 15. Monitors plant procedures, plant processes, equipment maintenance and makes informed recommendations for improved operations. 16. Follows and enforces all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguards. Works to advance and promote the safety culture of the site. 17. Provides engineering assistance to other departments. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) with a detailed knowledge of chemistry, electrical and mechanical engineering and construction methods and their practical application. A minimum of 5 years of experience including project management and scheduling, plant operations, equipment maintenance and process control equipment and theory.
