Building Inspector / Zoning Administrator
City of Nebraska City.
Visit www.gonebraskacity.com and nebraskacityne.gov. Must have five (5) years of construction experience or three (3) years experience in building code enforcement or three (3) years zoning administration experience. Associate’s Degree in Planning, Urban Development, Construction Management or related field. Preferred training and experience include apprenticeship or advanced education or training in building and plumbing codes. AICP Designation preferred. Certificates in: Residential Building Inspections, Commercial Building Inspections, and/or Combination Building Inspection from the International Code Council, or the ability to obtain certifications within two (2) years of employment. Knowledge in:
Planning, Zoning and Subdivision regulations. Knowledge in building,
plumbing, mechanical, ADA, IBC, IRC, IMC, IFC, NEC, IPC, IECC and zoning codes and ordinances. Knowledge of proper methods and materials for building construction, and proper inspection methods. Possession of NDEQ On-site Wastewater and Treatment System Certificate or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire. Full-time non-exempt position with full benefits. Annual pay range on an 8-step pay plan beginning at $23.89/hour.
