Municipal Assessor
Municipal Assessor Windsor/ Chester The municipalities of Windsor and Chester, VT are seeking a qualified individual to oversee the Assessor/ Lister functions in both communities. The Town Assessor is responsible for the assessing functions of the Town including inventory, appraisal and assessment of all taxable property and defense of values. The positon requires highly technical and skilled work pertaining to the appraisal of real property, often under time constraints.
This is a full time position. The selected individual will be an employee of the Town of Windsor which will then contract the Assessors services to the Town of Chester. The work week will be split between the two communities. In addition, part time staff will support both offices. Significant communication and collaboration between the Selectboards and management of both Towns will insure that clear goals and objectives are in place to support the competent function of the offices.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of four years' experience as an Assessor/Lister or have experience in a field related to property valuation (real estate appraisal, contracted revaluation services, etc.). The position offers a salary range in the mid to upper $40's along with an attractive benefit package including paid time off, health, dental and life insurance.
