A Key Question That Should Be Answered By You Before You Submit Your Cover Letter

It would surprise you how many people don't stop to think before they submit their cover letter when they are applying for jobs. There are a number of questions you should ask yourself before you even think about submitting it. Some of these questions are minor, but others are very serious. If you're wondering what some of those key questions are I am going to explain a few of them in this article so that you can help your cause when you are creating a cover letter.

One of the first questions that should be answered is does your cover letter connect the dots for the employer and explain why you are an ideal match for the position. When I say connect the dots I mean did everything you put on your cover letter matchup to what the employer is looking for? Do you believe that the employer was immediately able to determine you would be best suited for the job based on the individual points you mentioned in your cover letter? Answer this question now before you decide to submit a cover letter and if you feel this hasn't been accomplished then make the necessary changes.

The second question you need to answer concerning your cover letter writing is can everything about you be summed up within 30 seconds of glancing at your cover letter? You know one great concept that has become available these days in the dating world is a concept known as speed dating. Speed dating gives you the ability to quickly evaluate someone and determine if they are worth your time and energy. Your resume cover letter should be able to do the same thing, meaning it should be able to give the reader a quick summary of why you are worth their time and energy concerning calling you and interviewing you.
