Whether you are looking for a teaching, custom service or international sales job - among other things - the languages you speak have become an increasingly important element of your resume. Before you even start wondering how you will present your lanaguage skills in your resume writing, you should make sure that what you say is the truth? Why? Because it is not rare that employers start speaking to you in foreign language during the interview, in order to test your skills. So whatever your level might be, make sure it is accuratly represented on paper.
Now when it comes to presenting your language skills, you should make a distinction between spoken, written and read and clearly say what's your level for each caregory.
Here is an example:
Spanish - spoken: basics, written: basics, read: average.
And if you are fluent, simply write: Spanish: fluent or Spanish spoken, written and read: fluent.
