The City of Morrison
is accepting applications for the newly created
position of Public Services Director.
This is a department head position that entails a broad scope of work related to fulfilling the goals of the city’s elected leadership and working closely with the City Administrator and Mayor.
Included in the scope of duties:
Providing internal operational support to city departments, employee engagement, planning, community outreach, customer service, serves as the city’s Zoning Administrator, and as a liaison between staff, elected officials, committees, and boards.
Those with a dedication to organizational effectiveness, the ability to ask questions and build trust, the ability to develop collaborative working relationships, and those who demonstrate a commitment to learning and constant improvement are encouraged to apply.
Applicants are not required to have previous municipal experience, but must be energetic and have a passion for public service and being a part of a leadership team.
Minimum experience of 8 years with increasingly complex responsibilities in a similar sized organization preferred. Work hours typically days with occasional evening meetings. Starting salary $55,000, participation in Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, competitive benefits. Residency within Morrison School District boundaries required.
