Project Engineer
Electric, Grinnell, IA
Responsible for performing engineering duties including researching, designing, developing or testing electronic components and systems as per customer engineering specifications. Review customer requests and product engineering specifications; assist vendors with engineering project requirements; perform product cost estimation; use AutoCAD product design and tool design; analyze and optimize workflow of new products; monitor production schedules and orders and lead cross-functional teams to ensure program is successfully launched on time and within budget; design and build assembly fixture with electronics for mistake proofing assemblies; perform project progress report utilizing Microsoft Office Project; prepare weekly and monthly report in regard to the project financial status; evaluate and eliminate waste to increase production efficiency; collaborate with and visit tools shops.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or a
closely related engineering field and 2 years’ engineering
experience. Must possess 2 years of experience with:
• Performing product and tool design using AutoCAD
• Performing product cost estimation
• Working with injection molding suppliers
• Performing project progress reports utilizing Microsoft Project
