Job Description: Quality Improvement Coordinator: Pioneer Medical Center in Big Timber, MT has an opening for 1 Quality Improvement Coordinator. Duties include the following: Responsible for planning and implementing the Quality Improvement and Risk Management Program to meet the needs of the facility. Maintains oversight and facilitates Quality Improvement and Risk Management activities throughout the facility. Acts as resource person to administrative team, department managers, and medical staff, and provides education as needed.Supports and practices the mission and philosophy of Pioneer Medical Center. Demonstrates positive, supportive, and caring behaviors in communication with patients/ residents, families, visitors, physicians, staff & others. Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality. Demonstrates and maintains knowledge related to performance improvement activities throughout the facility. Demonstrates effectiveness in planning, implementing, and facilitating the Performance Improvement Program to meet the needs of the facility. Assists with preparation for review by regulatory and accrediting agencies. Develops collaborative relationships with physicians, physicians' assistants, & nurse practitioners to enhance quality practice. Takes responsibility for identification of own professional growth and development needs; meets all system/department educational requirements. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization. Provides education to staff on Performance Improvement. Assists departments in development of policies and procedures related to Quality Improvement. Utilizes information obtained via performance improvement activities to seek and act on opportunities to improve patient care processes, collaborating with other departments as needed. Communicates appropriate information and reports to the QI Committee, Administration, Medical Staff, and the Board of Directors. Acts as chairperson of the Quality Improvement/Risk Management Committee. Implements and conducts special studies when appropriate or requested by the QI Committee, DON, CEO, or Medical Committee. Maintains administrative control of records related to Performance Improvement and risk event. Prepares and disseminates memos, and reports. Maintains required records. Will record events reported, track to identify trends. Work with managers to develop improvement plans. Work with CEO on events requested from insurance company. Demonstrates awareness of the responsibilities of the position and how it interfaces with the rest of the healthcare team. Communicates appropriately and clearly to administration, medical staff, and other departments. Provides support and assistance as needed. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Consistently demonstrates a professional, self directed, mature, disciplined and tactful approach to department responsibilities. Is flexible, organized and functions will under stressful situations. Risk Management: Oversee day-to-day operations of the risk management program. Ensure services are in compliance with professional standards, state & federal regulatory requirements. Investigate, examine, analyze and report on risk data to determine potential loss, improvement opportunities, and process changes. Gather, analyze and retain legal claims or any associated risk data. Utilize safety data to create and implement educational programs that promote prevention of safety events from occurring and mitigating lost to the organization. Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree. 2 years experience with job duties. Respondents must be presently eligible for permanent employment in the United States.
