Welcome to part two of work at home success. Marketing is the key to any successful business. It doesn’t matter if you’re selling furniture, toys, or even just yourself; you cannot succeed in business without good marketing techniques. Work at home success will be dependent upon how well you are able to get your name and your business known in the world, so you need to put your self-esteem problems aside and become your own best promoter.
Look at it like this: you want that work at home success, right? Ok, well then you have to prove that you are the best person for the type of job that you do, EVERY TIME. You can’t be uncertain or humble. You have to put yourself out there and make people see that you ARE the person they need to see for their needs. Imagine you were working in sales, and selling a hot product; how would you market that product and get it out there so that the public can find it and buy it? That’s exactly how you want to look at things. When it comes to marketing yourself, you are the hot item, and you need to know how to sell yourself.
If you can’t praise yourself for your efforts, think of what others would say or have said to you about your workmanship and the quality of your work. Don’t use unsubstantiated fluff answers, though. Make sure you have facts and proof of anything that you advertise. For example, if someone says your work is amazing; don’t use that as a marketing tool, unless you include it as a direct quote with the person or company’s name (with permission, of course). Focus on the factual compliments that you’ve gotten from people to boost your image and your self esteem, and to help sell yourself better.
You can create a web page to market your services. You can create profiles on the top work at home job sites touting your abilities. It doesn’t matter where you advertise; the only way to experience work at home success is to make sure that you DO advertise everywhere you can, to market yourself to the fullest extent possible. In the next segment, we’ll look at building your reputation.
