When you get a job elsewhere, you work for the company, and their services and advertising are taken care of by other people. However, when you decide to work at home, you’re in charge of everything. You have to determine which services you’ll provide, how much you’ll charge, and how to advertise yourself and your services so that you can generate the business that you need. DIY work from home can be un-complicated if you’re aware of what you’re getting into, but starting your own work at home career will never be easy.
Sorry to be the one to burst your bubble. It’s not all flexible hours and easy money. It’s a lot of hard work, many days convincing yourself that you need to work, and the possibility of starting out working for measly earnings because you’re new to the field. However, if you put everything you’ve got into it, and are willing to work as hard as you have to, you can succeed in working from home without outside help.
DIY work from home will often be much more rewarding than seeking outside assistance to get your business off the ground. Even if you don’t have a business, per se, other than yourself, taking the time to do it yourself can make you that much more appreciative of your success in the end than if you were to get help from someone else to get your work at home career going.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t use the help that’s out there. By all means, use it if you need it. However, I’m just here to tell you that you can do it without assistance if you want. In all avoidance of being arrogant, I’m living proof that it can happen. I started over a year and a half ago exploring the world of working from home after being laid off from my J-O-B. I spent almost a year being broke and living off of next to nothing, only getting a small job here and there. Now I’ve got more contacts than I know what to do with, and a stream of work that keeps me busy around the clock. I went from having nothing and struggling to make ends meet to now having so much work that I spend about 10 hours a day working.
If you’re really determined to succeed at DIY work from home, it can be done. I almost gave up and went back to another J-O-B, but just when I thought it was over, the work started pouring in. So keep your chin up, and remember that even in the slow economy, people still need services and you can still find work.
