Freelance Work from Home: What Job is Right for You?

When it comes to finding freelance work from home, you’ve got a lot of options to choose from. Obviously, your industry or particular skill set will help you to determine which jobs are best for you, but there are so many different places to look and companies to consider that you might feel easily overwhelmed. There are many ways to find jobs online, and you need to watch out for scams, as well. There are literally hundreds of thousands of available jobs out there on the internet, but for every legitimate job listing there are at least one or two scams or schemes that you might find.

Finding freelance work from home can be easily narrowed down into a few choice search areas, depending on your particular skills and industry that you work in. Your best odds of finding work will be at sites like Craigslist, oDesk, GetAFreelancer, and Elance. With these options, Craigslist is the only one that will actually require you to watch out for spam ads and scam opportunities. The other sites all require users to sign up and have a legitimate company or need in order to post a listing. They work like 3rd party escrow companies, charging the companies fees in addition to what you get paid for their services.

Freelance work from home positions are a dime a dozen, depending on your specialty. However, you might apply to ten, twenty or even thirty or more different jobs and only get one or two replies, if any. This is because the freelance market is so much more open to applicants that they get about ten times the number of responses as a traditional job listing in a local paper would get.  You’ll need to be dedicated to finding the right job, and willing to be patient and wait for the right opportunity to come your way.

Good luck in your freelance work from home search, and keep these tips in mind for the best results.
