Work at Home Job Resources: Knowledge is Power

When it comes time to find a work at home job, you might realize that you need to do some research, and therefore need some work at home job resources to learn about all of your different options for working at home. I'd like to think that since you're here, that I'm kind of your work at home authority. However, I know that there is much more information out there that can help you, and I can't give it all to you. I can offer a lot, and point you in the right direction, but really you need sites like CraigsList for job postings and other freelancing and work from home sites to help you determine how and what to charge for your services if you are your own business, and what things you need around the office on a daily basis.

There are plenty of work at home job resources out there, as long as you know where to look. Keep in mind, however, that you need to find the legitimate sites, and the companies that offer real information, as opposed to finding those that are scams, schemes, or offer no real information without getting you to sign up for some service first. Information is free, and you should never pay for work at home resources or job listings. That's essential to know, because many companies will charge membership fees to get job listings that you can find elsewhere free of charge. For example, there's one site I know (no names, sorry) that finds job postings on Craigslist and then charges its readers a $39 membership fee (monthly or annually--I'm not sure). Either way, that's $40 that you could save by spending an hour on CraigsList searching job listings for yourself.

Most companies realize that people aren't willing to pay for these listings if they don't have to, so they offer them free, and get the income to run their site from ad revenue. However, there are a few that will try and sneak in on you. Other work at home job resources include knowing what to have in your office, how to apply for jobs properly, and what to do when you've got too much work or too many offers.

I'll cover these topics as much as I can in upcoming blogs, and I've covered some before. However, you can find information in other places as well. By doing a basic search on any search engine, you'll be amazed at the resources you find for all your work at home needs.
