Work at Home Word Processing Jobs

Work at home word processing jobs are not the same as writing or editing jobs. Writers and editors that work from home are trained or experienced in the actual process of writing and the English language, while most word processing positions that you find require little or no expertise or experience at all. Most word processing positions involve dictation or re-typing of already established information, offering the worker to provide little or no additional text or information.

It is not my goal to belittle those who are seeking work at home word processing jobs; but rather to explain the differences to people who may not understand them. Word processing and data entry are basic jobs that just about anyone can do, provided that they have typing skills. Writing and editing jobs, on the other hand, take training, experience, and years of work to become successful and established. Nonetheless, you can still find word processing jobs the same way that you'd find other work from home positions; sites like Monster, CareerBuilder, GetAFreelancer, and CraigsList all offer listings for work at home word processing jobs.

Word processors are likely to make around $8-$10 an hour, or a similar per-project rate, depending on the job that they pick up. Those with more experience will likely make more than those with less, but it's all circumstantial, depending on the person and the job at hand. Word processing jobs that are paid on a rate are usually based on a page count or word count, measuring your ability by how efficiently you can complete a page or set of pages.

Work at home word processing jobs will be much less exclusive than writing and editing jobs, and even though many ads you see are spam, they do have one true statement: anyone who can type can do these jobs. And as always, with any home-based job search, you need to take the time to research all of your options and rule out any and all opportunities that might be scams or marketing schemes. If you're willing to invest the time to search, you should have no trouble finding the work at home jobs that you need.
