I've gotten a little behind on blogging lately; my apologies. I've been super-swamped with projects (proof that you CAN find paid work from home jobs that are legit), and the site's been having technical problems everytime I've tried to use it. Alas, you can rest easy, because I have returned. And today, we shall discuss one of my favorite places to find the work at home jobs that you need.
Viva Craig's List! Who's Craig, and how can I congratulate him for being such a genius? What he (or they, I suppose) has created is a virtual classifieds section, with information on all regions, cities, and even smaller areas all over the WORLD. Want a job in London? CraigsList has listings. Perhaps you were thinking about India... those are there too. And for us Americans, the list is even bigger. Every major city has its own main link on the site, and a lot of smaller cities can be found by checking each individual state's listing.
Because posting is free, many people use CraigsList to post job openings, especially when it comes to freelance work and telecommuting. This is great for job seekers looking for paid work from home jobs. You can search and apply for jobs free of charge, and without signing up for anything. You simply choose the metro area or city you want, and then find the job category that you want within that city. For example, a writer would find jobs like this:
Choose a city. I usually start with Atlanta and work my way all the way down to Washington D.C., going through each one. Then when you're on the right city page, click "writing/editing" under the "Jobs" category. Then you can scroll through and find any jobs that say "contract" "home" or "telecommute". Make sure you're getting legitimate listings, and not the scam "Make $1000 today working at home" ads. Once you've gone through the jobs section, click your back button, so that you're on the city page again. Then scroll down to "gigs" and click on "writing" and look through them. Any jobs you find, you can bookmark or minimze the listing page, and then go back and apply for them all at once when you're done searching.
If you're looking for paid work from home jobs and willing to take a few hours of your day to search, Craiglist is a great resource for finding the jobs that you want. Good luck, and happy job hunting!
