To work from home, you don't need specialized training or even a specific degree; you simply need the desire to work at home, and the motivation and drive to be successful at it. However, it's not just that simple. Not every person can go out each day and decide to quit their successful job or career to work from home.
First, you need to assess the situation: Yourself and Your Job (or the job you seek)
Are you:
- motivated
- a self-starter
- dedicated
- organized
- able to stay focused
- looking to increase your flexibility while still working a full schedule
If so, working from home could be a great option for you. However, if you're not so motivated, or are trying to find the "financial freedom" of a home business without putting in much effort, you're not going to last in the work at home market. There are a few rules of working from home, kind of like debunkers for myths of working at home.
- You ARE NOT going to make $1,000, $5,000 or $17,000 a week doing nothing. Do nothing, make nothing. It's called work for a reason.
- Their "proven system" is code for only one thing: pyramid scheme. You buy into the program, and then they teach you how to sell the program to others. There's no "product" or "service" aside from signing up to recruit people for their company.
- If you want a JOB, find job listings. If you want to start a business, find LEGITIMATE business opportunities. There is a distinct difference and you need to know before you search.
- You can never do too much research before you begin working from home
- "All for a great value of only $295 USD!": bulls--well, anyhow, they're full of crap. Pardon my frankness, but $295 for some mystery book or CD-ROM about working at home is just ludicrous. Job listings are FREE and you can find just about anything you want to know online for free as well.
- It takes more to work from home than it does to work out of the home. More energy, more time, more motivation, etc.
Now that we've set the record straight, you should know that anyone can truly work at home, but only as long as they're willing to accept the reality of the situation and are wiling to invest the time and effort to do it properly.
