These days, almost anyone can work from home.
Writers. Lawyers. Editors. Business People. Sales People. Telemarketers. Graphic Designers. Web Designers. And yes, even a Paralegal can work from home.
Provided that you have the right training, and the special skills it takes to work from home, you're totally able to decide to find a paralegal work from home position.
Special Skills? Wait. What?
Yeah, not just anyone can work from home. It takes a special kind of person. One with dedication, motivation, and the drive to succeed without a structured work environment. Even Paralegal work from home positions require more than just experience and education in the paralegal field.
If you don't have the self-drive to motivate yourself to get up and go to work every morning, you'll never make it in the work at home market. If you are a procrastinator, or thrive on the constant supervision and/or praise of your boss, working at home probably isn't for you.
However, if you would rather work alone, and are driven to succeed and meet deadlines, you might be right for a paralegal work from home position. If you push yourself harder than your boss pushes you, you'll be a perfect match for working from home. As long as you have the ability to realize that the location doesn't make the job any less important, and that rules and deadlines didn't suddenly become null and void, you'll be okay in a paralegal work from home position.
Anyone can get, and maintain, an office job. It takes a special kind of person to be able to sit around in their pajamas and actually accomplish things. Phone calls, e-mails, projects, the list goes on and on. Don't assume working from home will be easy, and don't assume it'll be fun.
Working from home may free up your schedule a little, but it's the hardest job ever, because you are your own boss. You are responsible for your time and accomplishments for the day, and you're responsible for determining how sick is too sick to work. Especially if you have a laptop and the ability to lay in bed all day. If you thought your old boss was a stickler, act like him. Then multiply it by five, and you'll be a great work from home employee.
