Everybody wants to work at home. And why not? It's flexible, it's comfortable, and it provides the ability to live your life while still working when you want to. Too many websites try to offer their work at home guide for your use, but often charge money to procure common information, or worse, no information at all.
Don't fall for this. If you're looking for a legitimate business opportunity, that's great. Do your research and sort through all of your options before you choose which one is best for you. It's okay to pay for business opportunities, provided that you find ones that will actually provide you with information or products and services that are actually worth paying for.
If you're looking for a work at home guide for an actual job, there are many options. I spent about a month sorting through all of the junk offers and "do nothing and make millions" ads that you see everywhere. Once I finally found real job sites and legitimate job opportunities, I was excited. I don't pay people to hire me. I simply fill out an application or send in a resume and if they want to hire me, they do. It's just like getting a traditional job. Where do I find these jobs, you may ask?
Craigslist. oDesk. Elance. Other freelance writing blogs and websites. Real, traditional job listings for work at home jobs are ALL OVER the internet. And some companies do offer better lists of less advertised jobs to subscribers. I never subscribed to a mailing list or blog of job offers that required payment, but I know plenty of people who do, and find great job listings that way.
Work at home guide sites can sometimes be tricky in trying to convince you to sign up for their service, or to pay for their top secret information... sometimes it's a worthwhile investment. Other times, it's a load of crap.
I apologize for my frankness, but it's the reality of the situation. Everyone wants to work from home. Scammers and others are capitalizing on the excitement and naiivety of everyone looking for these positions by charging money for simple information, and sometimes for nothing. Always use caution when investigating any work from home position that requires you paying money, and remember this golden rule of working from home:
IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS. MOVE ON.
