If you are wondering if there are legitimate home based business jobs available, stop wondering. A quick computer search revealed 925 million postings regarding work from home jobs. That is nearly 3 ½ listings for every man, woman, and child in the USA. Are some of these listings bogus? Yes, but, certainly not 925,000,000 of them. Just making the assumption that 920,000,000 are bogus, that would still leave five million legitimate work from home jobs sites to choose from.

 

With so many choices out there, you definitely don’t want to sift thru all of those offerings. What you need to do is to sit down and brain storm on your own what type of home based business would be ideal for you. Make a list then devote some time to researching the possibilities in those areas you have settled upon. Remember, what seems to work perfectly for your neighbor might not even remotely interest you.

 

As you proceed with your research into the realm of the possible you should take into consideration that while there are many legitimate home based businesses listed. There are probably even more listings which amount to nothing more than elaborate scams. Especially be leery of companies that require up front training fees as a requisite for obtaining income figures that seem too good to be true. Many, not all, operations looking for up front fees are scams.

 

There are plenty of legitimate home based business which will in fact require some basic training to properly do the job. No company can afford to train thousands of people to perform given tasks if those involved in the training are not sincere and/or committed to really doing the work. If you think you are seriously interested in a position but have your doubts about the integrity of the entity, the Better Business Bureau is always a good place to check out both good references and complaints about a given unit advertising work from home programs.

 

So then, what are some of the more likely legitimate home based business jobs to be had?

Perhaps you would find some of the following ideas to be of interest to you. Your choice(s) should match up with the time you have available to devote to a given project.

  • Part or full time data entry jobs
  • Typists for word processing
  • Taking on line product surveys earning $25 an hour or more or simply earning points toward merchandise or gift cards. There are dozens of the product surveys out there. Read the fine print though before taking the bait. Some will pay well; others will simply consume your time for pennies an hour.
  • Reading and reviewing books for major publishers
  • Medical and/or legal transcriptionists
  • Day care services (Make sure to get your local health department certifications if you are looking at doing this on a major scale.) If you are going to tend children for one or two friends from time to time then that is a different story.
  • Writing projects ranging from short articles to resumes to free lance writing or even authoring a novel or short story.
  • Working as a secret shopper for one or more major retailers.

 

The list could obviously go on and on. If you decide working at home is in fact for you, good luck and make sure that what you get involved in is really a legitimate home based business job.
