What Constitutes a Christian Work from Home Opportunity?
Before jumping into a work from home business head first because it is advertised as being Christian, step back and take a good look at it. Is the term Christian used lightly or is the term used sincerely? Is the term used to refer to all Christians or just “Born Again Christians”? If you are under the mistaken assumption that everyone has the same interpretation of the term, think again. The answer you come to could make a big difference in how you end up feeling about both the business and the people you are dealing with.
To some the above questions may seem a little absurd. However, when you realize that there are those “Christians “ out there that don’t consider Catholics, Lutherans and most any other major Christian religion to be Christian because they don’t have the word “Christian” in the name of the church, they are not so far out.
Opportunities for Christians working from home are abundant. Unfortunately, just because an advertisement is placed in a periodical or on a website touting itself as being Christian, does not mean it cannot be a scam. The simple fact that the word Christian appears is often enough to cause well meaning souls to let down their guard. So if you see someone advertising opportunities for Christians working from home just remember that you need to check out its credentials every bit as much if not more so than with other ads. The preceding statement is not intended to offend. Obviously there are plenty of legitimate opportunities for Christians working from home.
As a Christian some things you are most likely looking for in any work from home opportunity are:
· People you work with should have a very positive attitude
· Associates should maintain a set of high ethical standards
· Products to be worked with should be high quality and dependable
· Merchandise involved in your business should perform as advertised
· Items being distributed should meet Christian standards and be tastefully done.
As a Christian seeking work from home opportunities you might consider:
- Working with a local pastor on an already established program
- Working with other members of faith who are interested in similar goals
- How your choice of activities will influence those around you both Christian and non-Christian.
- You might work with resellers or even youth groups
Whichever direction you choose to go just keep in mind nobody can guarantee you anything. Business opportunities for Christians working from home are up against the same set of basic rules as any other enterprise. There will be scams, legit operations and a need for good business sense and planning.
