Work from Home with Pets
If you love being around pets; then why not work from home taking care of them. There are several ways of getting involved with animals. As long as you are going to work from home you might as well be doing something that you enjoy. A few of the ways of getting involved with animals are:
1. Pet grooming:
There are different ways of dealing with pet grooming.
· You can make appointments for people to bring their pets to your residence and work from home in a room established which has been furnished specifically to groom animals. Such a room should be designed to put animals at ease. If possible it is good to have different areas for cats and dogs as the scent of one will often upset the other.
· You might make appointments to make house calls to groom the pet near its own surroundings. When this system is employed a van is often used as a mobile grooming spa. You may have seen them around. One catchy name for such a van is “Park & Bark”. Obviously you have to make sure no one else has an exclusive right to use the slogan you would like to post on your grooming van.
2. Pet hotel:
There are always people going on vacation or who need to make emergency trips. It is frequently inconvenient to have to try to take pets with you. This once again allows you a work from home opportunity. These people are often willing to pay good money to house their pets in a respected pet hotel or kennel.
· Dogs:
If you are going to be working strictly with dogs you will likely need to have multiple running cages for them supplied with ample food and water. You should also have sufficient kennels for each dog to have separate quarters.
· Dogs & Cats:
If you are going to work with both dogs and cats you should have separate holding rooms if possible. Both the cats and dogs will feel calmer if they are not so aware of the other’s presence. Once again you should have sufficient kennels for each animal. An exception being if you have a family of dogs or cats that enjoy each others company.
· Cats: If you choose to house only cats then you will not likely need as much space as you would for dogs or a combination of both.
3. Pet breeding:
Good money can be made from a work from home business breeding pure bred cats or dogs. Each pup or kitten depending on the breed can go for several hundred dollars including papers showing lineage.
4. Dog walking:
One last way of earning money by working from home with pets is to arrange to walk dogs for people. In rural areas most people would find this laughable. However, in urban settings this can in fact be very profitable.
Regardless of which one of these options you choose don’t forget to obtain proper licensing and inspection requirements. You want to stay on the good side of both the law and the pet owners.
