3 Additional Admin Job Interview Questions And Answers

Q. Describe a situation you were involved in that required a multidimensional communication strategy.
A. Being in an administrative position will sometimes require you to get across ideas and points in a multidimensional way. Some people may be better at understanding written communication, while others will be better at understanding spoken communication. Some may respond to video messages, in any case your ability to use multidimensional strategies is important. Make sure you explain to the person giving you the interview that you possess these multidimensional communication skills.

Q. Give an example of a difficult or sensitive situation that required extensive communication.
A. When you are in an administrative position you will be required to use effective means of communication to solve problems. Sometimes you may have to go above and beyond with your communication in order to get that problem solved. Explain to the person giving you the interview how you would go about doing this. Explain to them how you would handle a situation that required more communication then you may be accustomed to giving.

Q. How do you ensure that someone understands what you are saying?
A. Equally as important as communication is making sure someone understands what has been said. Even though this may seem self-evident many people will have a hard time processing everything the first time you say it to them on the job. You can use this as an opportunity to explain to the person giving you the interview about how you go about doing this. Whatever your personal strategy would be, make sure it is one that your interviewer will understand the first time. He or she may ask you to give them a demonstration right then and there.
